Visitors say they can really taste the difference when it comes to sampling our locally produced, Cairngorms food.
As well as being more humane and giving animals the best possible life, allowing them to roam freely also - say the foodies - makes for a better tasting end result.
Indeed, you just have to take an Estate tour to see how well the highland cows and deer, for instance, are looked after.
Similarly, the clean lochs and rivers are full of world-class tasting salmon and trout.
Many restaurants pride themselves on serving fresh local fish newly caught. Or you can buy it directly from local farm shops, like Rothiemurchus, where they've often added their own special twist like smoking it over old whisky barrel chippings.
To make your taste sensation complete, why not pair your food with the perfect tipple? There are many local delights to choose from whether you prefer whisky, gin or ale!
Or, why not finish your meal with an award winning cheese from Cambus O'May?

- What type of produce can I buy locally?
There is such an abundance of food produced in the Cairngorms National Park and part of the joy of a stay here is experiencing it. For instance, there’s everything from organic beef to venison, fish, lamb and game. There’s also a huge array of renowned local fruit and vegetables, not to mention honey, herbs, cereal and diary products!
- What is a traditional Cairngorms drink?
Obviously the Speyside area is world famous for its whisky, but other local tipples are also fast gaining an acclaimed reputation, such as the growing number of local gins and our Aviemore-brewery produced ales.
- As well as food, what can you buy at a Cairngorms Farmers Market?
Crafting is becoming increasingly popular in the Cairngorms. You can buy a variety of crafts products at farmers markets too, such as pottery, candles, soaps, handcrafted cards, home decorations, jewellery, furniture and decorative items made from wood, to name but a few.
