Group Accommodation

The Cairngorms is the perfect setting for get-togethers, from team building events out of the office, to celebrating a landmark occasion with loved ones…

Many flock to the Cairngorms for group events, be it a ‘big’ birthday, a reunion or just an excuse to spend leisurely time outdoors with friends or colleagues. The Park has many ideal options to accommodate groups from large properties to hotels to bunkhouses to similar lodges that can be booked as a cluster.

There’s nothing quite like the joy of bringing friends and family together, in a stunning setting, away from the pressures of ‘normal’ life.

Whether you’re celebrating a landmark anniversary, or a birthday, hen or stag do, or even the main wedding event itself, you’ll find the perfect accommodation in the Cairngorms.

There are plenty of wonderful, varied group accommodation options…

For instance, you may want to take over a cluster of cottages on the same site, which you can do at places like Lagganlia, Loch Insh and Bluefolds (see listings below).

Or you may prefer to occupy one large property – the Cairngorms can cater for the luxury budget, with properties like Scottish comedian Billy Connolly’s former residence Candacraig – or a tighter budget like taking over a bunkhouse.

FAQs

We are a group of over 20. Can you still accommodate us in one place?

Yes! There are various ways to accommodate a group of this size on the same site and, even, building. Craggan Outdoors, for example, offers its Glenbeg Bunkhouse and Bothy, located side by side, to hire out to parties of up to 37. Or, if it’s luxury you’re after, large groups could consider taking over an entire 17th Century baronial mansion like Candacraig – formerly owned by Scottish comedian Billy Connolly. Another alternative is to block book a group of holiday cottages located next to each other, for instance, on an estate or outdoor education centre premises. I want to stay somewhere that cares about the environment. Any suggestions?

Look out for the ‘Green Tourism’ award that is held by some B&Bs and guest houses, which will be displayed next to their listing.

Are there any accreditation schemes that can help me compare accommodation?

Yes. Accredited businesses will have VisitScotland, AA and other industry award logos appear alongside their listing.
