Zip wire and high ropes courses in the Cairngorms

Craving an adrenaline rush amidst breathtaking scenery? The Cairngorms National Park in Scotland offers a number of exhilarating zip line adventures and challenging high ropes courses. Soar through ancient pine forests, tackling a series of zip lines and navigating obstacle courses high up in the trees.

1. Zip Park Aviemore

On the Alvie Estate the G2 Adventure Hub Zip Park offers the choice of two fantastic courses. An original guided zip trek (twelve wires spanning over 2km of fantastic zipping accompanied along the course by a zip guide to show you the ropes and operate the brakes on the longest wires!) and a self guided zip adventure park (through the Alvie Gorge along twenty-one amazing zip wires ending at the new Zip Tower).

Both Zip Wire experiences fly high over the Alvie Gorge with spectacular views of the Cairngorms National Park and the Caledonian Pine Forest.

Minimum age 8 for the guided zip trek and 10 for the self guided.

2. Killiecrankie Zip Park

Immerse yourself in the beauty of Killiecrankie while getting your adrenaline pumping at the Killiecrankie Zip Park, also known as Killie Zip. This exhilarating adventure lets you zip through the treetops of the stunning valley, soaring across the mighty River Garry at heights of up to 30 meters. And for an extra dose of excitement, you can even see the HIghland Fling bungee jump platform and giant swing nearby!

Minimum age 8.

3. Bike Glenlivet – Zip Wire

Unleash your inner thrill-seeker on this brand-new zip wire adventure trail which opened in Spring of 2024. This exciting course features 13 exhilarating descents, 3 wobbly bridges to test your balance and a grand finale on a double zip line. Get ready to soar through the trees and experience the magic of the forest from a whole new perspective!

Minimum age 8.

4. Treezone Aviemore

Nestled amongst the ancient Caledonian Pines of Rothiemurchus, TreeZone Aviemore offers the ultimate aerial adventure course. Soar through the trees on a 100-meter zip line, navigate balance beams and conquer hanging platforms, tight ropes, scramble nets and heart-pounding bridges.

This unforgettable experience is perfect for families, friends and corporate team building. Get a squirrel’s-eye view of the majestic Rothiemurchus Forest as you tackle a variety of challenges designed to test your courage and agility.

5. Landmark Forest Adventure Park

Landmark in Carrbridge offers three different rope courses to suit the really little ones, middle sized and full grown monkeys in the family!

RopeworX is the tallest of the three ropes-courses in the park! Smaller visitors might want to check out the Tarzan Trail or Wee Monkey Trail.

The Tarzan Trail is a high ropes challenge for those who do not meet the height requirement for RopeworX, (and for those who may be more comfortable slightly nearer to the ground!).

The Wee Monkey Trail is designed as your child’s first real aerial challenge course.  With a full harness supplied, clip-in safety rail system and the steadying hand of an accompanying adult this is a real challenge for tiny people… but totally safe!

On top of all that there is Skydive which is a pure adrenalin experience, just harness up, climb the mast and step off (don’t jump, step)…. Easy!  Just don’t let the nerves get the better of you!

SkyDive comprises of two climbing masts which rise from the forest floor to approximately 35 feet up in the pine canopy.  At the top there are two platforms capable of taking one person at a time.
