A lovely walk visits the beautiful 300-metre natural rock gorge called the Linn of Dee.
A famous beauty spot historically favoured by Queen Victoria. Take the walk starting at the Linn of Dee car park (postcode below is approximate) through charming woodland to the bridge over the River Dee.
Enjoy the rush of water and spectacular rock formations as the River Dee, flowing down from its source in the Cairngorms, cascades through the narrow gorge. A walk along Glen Lui takes you to Derry Lodge, a Victorian shooting lodge built by the Duke of Fife, which is now unused.
On the way, you pass through a mix of tree plantations and ancient Caledonian pine forest.
The footpaths for most of the walk are very good..
