Kenny is a Wildlife Ecologist who works for Forestry & Land Scotland and leads the Predator Project on the Partnership. Over the last couple of decades, a novel community of vertebrate predators has been reassembling within the Cairngorm Connect area, holding important populations of threatened prey species, such as the Capercaillie. Kenny will update us on the first results from the research into the various species interactions in this fascinating system.

A fascinating insight into the aristocracy of Scotland – their family names may be familiar, but how they rose to prominence and acquired their grandeur may be less well known.

“The Good Old Days” … or were they?

This open meeting is an opportunity to talk about and comment on the services, events and facilities of Grantown during much of last century when local management was in the hands of the Burgh Council: from street lighting to new housing; waste disposal to public spaces, council offices and the burgh yard.

Memories and reminiscences will be evoked, and contributions will be very welcome on and before the evening.

We are excited to let you know the DSUK Santa Run will be making a return to Aviemore on Saturday 11th December 2021. The event is open to everyone and anyone who is willing to have some fun outside, while supporting Disability Snowsports UK. The event is family friendly, adaptive, and offers a great way to celebrate the beginning of Christmas season in the picturesque surrounding of Aviemore.

Participants can choose between a 1mile route or a 5mile route through the Aviemore High Street. We all want to become Santas (or elfs!) for a day, so bring your family, friends, pets and join us for a day full of Christmas fun!

Join this regular local High Life Highland Countryside Rangers green health walk and help reconnect with the natural world. Enjoy some leisurely exercise, friendly company, great views, and fresh air. Different theme each walk – you choose?! All of our ‘short walks into nature’ series are generally flat, approximately an hour or so in length and suitable for all abilities and levels of fitness.
