Our partnership project intends to restore Scotland’s wildcat population by releasing captive bred individuals into the wild. To be successful, this approach requires long term commitments from both the Saving Wildcats team and from you, our local community.

This is a free, one hour event and members of the team will be doing a few short presentations to introduce those in the area to the different aspects of the project. Afterwards, there will be plenty of time for questions. We want to hear from you!

If you have any questions in the meantime – please get in touch.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see one of the great spectacles of the Highlands, as red stags battle it out for the chance to breed.

Accompanied by a ranger you’ll walk approx. 4–5km to an area where red deer frequently rut. We’ll hopefully witness the magnificent stags showing off to one another and listen to their roars echo through the glens as they strive for dominance.

A reasonable level of fitness is required.

A shorter walk (less than 1km) is available on Wednesday 14 October for those less able.

Where is this event being held?

At the bottom of Birch Grove, near the golf course practice ground.
