It was with great sadness that we had to cancel our Atholl Highlanders Weekend earlier on in May this year, we will be holding the Atholl Highlander’s Parade on Saturday 9th of October 2021 for visitors to attend.

The Atholl Highlanders are the only remaining private army in Europe and act as the personal bodyguard to the Duke of Atholl, who is Chief of Clan Murray. Whilst they don’t have any military role, they are armed with Lee Metford rifles and include a pipe band. Please note that the last entry to Blair Castle will be at 1 pm.

Atholl Highlander Parade Timetable

2.30 pm – Spectators assemble for the parade at Blair Castle

2.45 pm – Atholl Highlanders parade begins including The Marquis of Tullibardine (Michael Murray) who will be parading and deputising for his father.

3 pm – The Atholl Highlanders 3lb Field Gun will be fired

This cherished event also includes an inspection from The Right Honourable Lord Naren Patel of Dunkeld KT., FRSE., FMedSci. and long service presentations.
