It has been a long wait since our last event, in 2019, and we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during what has been a traumatic time for so many people.
The support we have received from runners, sponsors, suppliers and the wider local community has been terrific and, although significant challenges remain, we are excited to be able to confirm that our full programme of races is planned to go ahead over the weekend of April 23-24.
Entries are now open and we would encourage you to sign up as soon as possible as limited places are available as a large number of people have deferred places from 2020 and 2021.
If you have already deferred from a previous year, and have confirmation of this, then you don’t need to take any further action at this point. If your original entry was part of a company block booking you should contact your company regarding a new entry.
We will be continuing with our series of special medals depicting notable landmarks within and around the Balmoral Estate. The 2022 medal will feature Balmoral Castle. So, don’t miss out on the chance to secure one of these limited edition mementoes.
Cairngorm School of Dance pupils are showcasing their talents of dance and drama throughout the day.
Come for a Wildlife Wander with someone from our knowledgeable team to see some of the amazing wildlife that Spring brings to Insh Marshes.
On this leisurely walk see the dainty violet flowers, lush green leaves on the trees and hear a variety of bird species singing their Spring songs.
April is a busy time for breeding birds and many waders call the marshlands home at this time of year, including curlew, lapwing, redshank and snipe. Hopefully we will hear them calling and see them defending their territory.
This tour will follow the Invertromie Trail – some areas may be rough underfoot. It is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies, and we recommend sturdy footwear.
Jo will guide us through an hour long yoga practice in the stunning Lookout Hide, moving through a dynamic yoga flow suitable for beginners, whilst looking out across the stunning marshlands, abundant with wildlife.
Cath will lead us on a gentle forest bathing journey along the Invertromie trail – the calming, peaceful practice of immersing ourselves in the unique nature found at the reserve.
We will finish off the morning by coming together to share some delicious homemade food, provided by a local bakery.
Jo Armstead is yoga instructor, doctor and outdoor enthusiast based in the Cairngorms National Park. She has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and particularly enjoys teaching whilst immersed in nature. Find out more about her at: www.wildernessflowyoga.co.uk

On the anniversary of the battle, explore the site of the last stand of the Jacobite army in the First Jacobite Rising on this guided walk.
Starting at Cromdale Church, we will look at the context of the battle and the ambush of the Jacobites at the Church.
We then journey to the ruins of Lethendry Castle and hear about how the government forces captured it.
More details on the walk will be confirmed closer to the time. See the Facebook Page for more details.
