Join us in Blair Castle’s Ballroom for a recital of piano, song and a little pipe music interspersed with excerpts from Kitty’s life story. The concert is to celebrate the centenary of the Duchess of Atholl (Duchess Kitty’s) election to Parliament, she was the first Scottish woman MP and you can read her full story here.

Music in Blair Atholl

Music in Blair Atholl was set up some 30 years ago as a small organisation with charitable status to bring classical music of a high standard to the Highlands of Scotland where it had little representation. At that stage Sebastian and Henrietta Thewes were living at Strathgarry where they had converted 18th Century farm buildings to include a small concert hall seating 100.

Since the sale of Strathgarry their concerts moved to Lude House, Blair Atholl, home of Andrew and Lavinia Gordon, and have now moved to the Ballroom of Blair Castle, with occasional concerts at the Village Hall and Kilmaveonaig Church, Blair Atholl.

Traditional Scottish music provided by famed Shetland fiddle player Maggie Adamson along with some of her friends.

Ceilidh open to all the family at Cromdale Village Hall. Tickets only £10, children under 16 are free. A BYOB event. Come and join us for a fantastic evening

Adam Fortune is an exciting singer/songwriter who is carrying on the musical legacy of Mic Christopher, Lisa Hannigan and Dick Gaughan as well as bands such as The Waterboys, The Cure and The Frames.

His 2021 album, ‘Harbour’, is a tribute to late Campbeltown musicians Kenny Gilchrist and Robert Black and features songs Adam has written over the course of the last 10 years, reflecting a decade of personal twists and turns.

Harry has been a professional entertainer for over 20 years and plays the guitar, mandolin, and the bagpipes. His main repertoire consists of Scottish and Irish favourites along with numerous ditties and medleys. He can also fit in a few favourites from the 50’s and 60’s as well as the occasional country song too!

Charlie’s a singer and songwriter based in Glasgow who grew up in Pitlochry. He plays a mixture of pop classics, Irish, Scottish and American folk songs with some originals thrown in the mix.
