Digging in the archive of the mostly absurd – choosing songs and other items by Joyce Grenfell, Flanders and Swann, and some others. We’re delighted to have the hugely talented Robin Versteeg joining us.

‘Invitation To The Dance’ – Boisterous reels, sultry tangos, swirling waltzes… For Cairngorms Orchestra’s winter concert, we focus on the rhythms and atmosphere of dance styles from all over the world. Featuring excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and a complete performance of the rambunctious Four Scottish Dances by Malcolm Arnold, our concert will culminate in the much-loved Skater’s Waltz by Waldteufel, as we look towards the cold, crisp weather of the Advent season.

This musical evening presented by TOMS (The Osprey Music Society) will feature the Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s Principal Cellist Philip Higham and Pianist and Composer John Cameron. The duo will play a mixture of music by Schumann, Hans Gal, Bruch and Brahms.

Findlay Napier returns to Grantown-on-Spey for a special one-off concert to mark the release of his latest album, Outsider.

Napier grew up on the banks of the River Spey and has enjoyed immense musical success in the past 20 years.

He is widely regarded as one of the finest performers on the UK music scene and has been touring a releasing music since the early 2000s – first with groundbreaking trad folk band Back of the Moon, then with Nu-Folk pioneers Findlay Napier and the Bar Room Mountaineers. Most recently, he has worked as a solo act, under the guidance of legendary songwriter Boo Hewerdine.

On December 6th 2024, join us at Nethybridge Hotel in the heart of the Scottish Highlands for an unforgettable evening of music, dance, and festive cheer. This unique event blends the magic of a Highland Christmas with the vibrant rhythms of Salsa, promising a night to remember.

Arrival from 7.30pm festivities begin at 8:00 pm with a warm welcome, setting the stage for a night of Afro-Latin DJ sets by Karawane, renowned for their captivating performances and infectious energy. Their Latin beats will have you dancing the night away!

The evening also includes Salsa workshops led by the talented James Montgomery, available for all skill levels, including total beginners. Whether you’re stepping onto the dance floor for the first time or looking to refine your technique, James’s expertise will help you dance with confidence and enjoy every moment.
