White Water Rafting on the River Spey

White Water Rafting in Scotland on the River Spey is an adventurous and enjoyable day out for all and is based in the Aviemore & Cairngorms area not far from Inverness. The rivers around Aviemore, the Cairngorms & Inverness are some of, if not the most enjoyable White Water Rafting venues across the whole of Scotland. The River Spey is Scotland’s overall fastest flowing river which also means that it can provide white water rafting all year round due to the large catchment areas.

White Water Rafting is a great fun activity for everyone. Families and young people will love the bounce and splash offered on this grade 2+ river trip on the Spey. While all adult groups may prefer to go for the more exhilarating experience on the River Findhorn or River Garry.

The minimum age for White Water Rafting on the Spey is 6 years old.
We supply all the technical equipment as part of your booking price – buoyancy aids, wetsuits and helmets.
What you need to bring is swim shorts to go over a wetsuit , an old pair of shoes you don’t mind getting wet, and a towel, warm clothing for before and after the activity.
We will try and take some photographs during the day if appropriate to do so and post these to Facebook after so you have access to them for free.
In summer when the river levels are low we may substitute the rafts for duckies (smaller inflatable self guided rafts) or sit on top kayaks if the river levels dictate that a craft would be safer or more enjoyable.
We can meet you at the venue, on route or at our main base and provide transport down to the river and will try and work around what is easiest for you as best we can.

Rising at over 1000 feet at Loch Spey near the famous Corrieyairack pass in the Scottish Highlands, the Spey descends to flow through Newtonmore, crossing Loch Insh before reaching Aviemore. From there it flows the remaining 60 miles north-east to the Moray Firth.
