A blessing of the animals has long been associated with St Francis of Assisi. The Feast Day of St Francis falls on October 4th, so we are following in that tradition of blessing animals. We invite you to bring your animals to church on the 13th, so they can be blessed. However, we do understand the need to keep animals calm and unstressed, so if you feel unable to bring your animal along, bring a photo of them instead.

A blessing of the animals has long been associated with St Francis of Assisi. The Feast Day of St Francis falls on October 4th, so we are following in that tradition of blessing animals. We invite you to bring your animals to church on the 20th, so they can be blessed. However, we do understand the need to keep animals calm and unstressed, so if you feel unable to bring your animal along, bring a photo of them instead.

A time of blessing the animals will be incorporated into the service, with refreshments following afterwards. All are welcome.

Giving thanks for a successful harvest and for God’s provision in our lives. Praying and seeking ways in which we can help provide for those who are struggling to put food on their tables.

A celebration of the gathering of the harvest around us, giving thanks for all that we have, and looking out to the communities around who may not have what we have and ways in which we can help others.

This October, we’re offering the chance for children to get a taste of what it’s like to be a zookeeper with our exciting two-hour Junior Highland Keeper experience!

For children aged eight – 15, our Junior Highland Keepers will get hands-on opportunities to care for the animals, learn about their habitats, and understand the importance of wildlife conservation. Children will assist with feeding, cleaning enclosures, and preparing special treats for the animals such as Mishmi Takin, Bactrian Camel and Japanese Macaques.

Each slot has space for four children to participate. Children must be accompanied by one adult aged 16+ for the duration. The accompanying adult entry is complimentary.

Tickets must be booked in advance with a ‘pay what you can’ donation towards the project.

The talk will take place in the Learning Hive at 6:00pm, with access from 5:30.
