The Bikeathon is back for 2022

The Kingussie Bikeathon is a family-friendly, fun cycling event through 25 miles of marked and marshalled roads in the Cairngorms National Park.

This year the route will return to an old favourite, heading out of Kingussie High School and out through Newtonmore, Laggan, up the hill to Glentrium and the Centre of Scotland returning along the NC7 through Newtonmore and back to Kingussie.

Entry fees are held at £15 for adults and £5 for kids. Ticket sales from this community event will raise funds for Kingussie High School*. We encourage participants to raise additional sponsorship for a cause, club or group of their choice.

Registration will be open on the day from 9.30 am with the ‘grand depart’ at 10.30. Take as long as you wish to complete the route and enjoy one of our refreshment stops and entertainment along the way.

The finish line will be at the popular Duke of Gordon Hotel where refreshments and entertainment from Speysound Radio will be available along with some spot prizes for those completing the ride.

We look forward to welcoming you to Cycle Friendly Kingussie.

*Event entry fees in aid of Kingussie High School Parent Council, Scottish charity number SC045172.

After a bit of delay, it’s back, so we hope you can join us for our eighth Vintage Day, Vintage cars, motorbikes, stationary engines, buses, tractors, choppers, auto jumble, BBQ, stalls and more – fun for all the family

On 3rd June, there will be birds of prey display from the Huntly Falconry Centre.

On 4th June, there are plans for 70 corgis to gather together on the lawns of Balmoral! The dogs will be a mix of Pembroke Welsh corgis and Cardian Welsh Corgis assembling in front of the castle to capture this memorable moment on camera.

On 5th June, the Leeds Pipe Band will play on the lawn at 11 am 1 pm and 3 pm.

The castle offers a unique ‘Balmoral Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea’ ticket throughout the entire weekend. This includes an extra special afternoon tea served on fine bone china in the Balmoral coffee shop (from 1 pm – 4 pm).

With your admission ticket (£15 per adult, £6 per child), you are also welcome to take your picnic to the grounds and enjoy it on the lawns. The admission ticket includes an audio tour (about 90 minutes) in which you will learn about the grounds, gardens and royal life. There will also be an extraordinary ‘Life At Balmoral’ exhibition to mark the occasion. A perfect pursuit for a Jubilee weekend!
