Join us for an idyllic and gentle paddle on the picturesque River Spey. With the beautiful Cairngorm peaks as your backdrop, paddle this majestic river with your family or friends in stable Canadian canoes. Your guide will show you how to maneuver your boats before you head off to enjoy a guided tour, spotting wildlife and relaxing in the beautiful natural surroundings as you go.
Suitable for ages 7+ years, you’ll be provided with all the kit you need for a safe and enjoyable paddling experience. Once we’ve reached our destination by boat, you’ll be picked up and brought back to base.

Come and explore this large, beautiful garden on the hillside above Dulnain Bridge. The garden contains mature woodland and provides stunning views of the River Spey and the Cairngorm mountains.
The garden is a haven for wildlife, including red squirrels and a range of woodland and garden birds. Five acres in size, the garden consists of some formal lawns with herbaceous borders, newly created rockeries and drystone walls and the beginnings of a Japanese garden. A stream enters the garden and cascades into a newly restored pond where common frogs breed.
You are free to wander and explore the garden, where there will be interpretation throughout promoting gardening for wildlife. This garden forms part of Scotland’S Garden Scheme and a page for the garden can be found here: https://scotlandsgardens.org/easter-laggan. Entry Fee – £5 (children free) There will be refreshments available to purchase and a plant sale. All proceeds will be donated to Parkinsons UK & Scotland’s Garden Scheme.

“Join us for a guided dawn chorus walk onto Dun Coillich where we will listen, learn about and meet the birds that call Dun Coillich home.
Join ecologist and lifelong birder Aidan MacCormick for a guided introduction to the sounds of the dawn chorus at Dun Coillich. It is always great to spend time on the hill with Aidan; Learning about the calls and behaviours of our feathered friends helps to bring an extra dimension to our experience of the outdoors. Why not come join us?

Help to record wildlife and add to our knowledge of animal and plant species in our local area. We will be identifying and recording wildlife as we take a short walk along the river path at Ballater, then looking into how you can share these records to the NE Scotland Biological Records Centre (NESBReC).
