In a delightful setting along the River Dee and deep in the Cairngorms National Park lies the glorious Balmoral Castle.
In a spectacular new addition to our listings we will be holding our first artisan market at Balmoral Castle on October 7th.

Below the Castle a tented village will surround the mews, cafe, Balmoral shop and stable buildings with exhibitors from near and far vying for your attention with a wide range of beguiling Scottish crafts, food and drink.
With the Christmas season just around the corner, this would be such a delightful way to start exploring all the gift options our exhibitors have to offer.

This will be one of our largest events to date with a tantalising collection of artisan art and craft. The ranges will include aromatic candles, skincare and soaps, captivating ceramics and artworks, a fine array of beguiling jewellery, luxurious textiles, awe inspiring photography, charming stationary, enticing stained glass, the loveliest of children’s clothes and the cutest of wooden gifts and toys to name just a few.

Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport. The aim is to navigate between checkpoints or controls marked on a special orienteering map. There is no set route so the the skill and fun come from trying to find the best way to go. The challenge is to complete the course in the quickest time.

This is a local event, suitable for newcomers.

You can find out more information about orienteering on the Scottish Orienteering Association website https://www.scottish-orienteering.org/get-involved/what-is-orienteering/

This event is organised by Badenoch and Strathspey Orienteering Club (BASOC). We are a small friendly club and organise regular training sessions and local events throughout the year. For more information please email secretary@basoc.org.uk

Singer, composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Siobhan Wilson grew up in Elgin. A trained cellist, singer, composer and pianist from St Mary’s Music School of Edinburgh, Siobhan has 15 years of international studio production experience including in New York, Paris, Budapest and Scotland. After a 5 year stay in Paris, France, she returned to Scotland where she is currently scoring her first short film recording with string orchestra.

Her performance is truly mesmirisng and she can silence a room with a mere whisper. She’s recently had great acclaim and her album ‘There are no saints’ was shortlised for Scottish Album of the year.

We are delighted to host her at the Dell for a full gig on the Friday night followed by a serene, acoustic supper club on the Saturday night.

Our Supper club is an incredibly intimate experience with a four course menu sourced as much as we can from the woods and gardens around the Dell. Think long tables, new friends, warm atmosphere, fire blazing and some really special acoustic interludes.

Capercaillie and Session A9 fiddler Charlie McKerron brings you his music in a more intimate atmosphere with his creative collaborators Tim Edey (guitar, melodeon) Ross Ainslie (whistles, pipes) and marc Clement (guitar, vocals) “You can expect an evening of amazing music and entertainment from these award winning musicians. Their virtuosity and sheer joy of performing together will always shine”

Charlie explains “The combination of the two guitar styles of Edey and Clement are electric and can only inspire and make you want to play”

Ross Ainslie comments “I love the improvisation thrown in, there is freedom within the music”
