Discover the histories and mysteries of the Dava Moor in a guided walk led by local historian and author, John Halliday.

Visiting local historic sites and points of interest, you will learn about the people and events and that made the Dava Moor what we know today. John will lead you in an exploration of Gaelic place names, landforms, geology, myths and legends, abandoned crofts, and farming methods. The walk follows estate hill tracks in a loop, with some tracks leading slightly uphill to give outstanding views of the moor looking out over the Moray Firth to the north and Cairngorms to the south.
This event is part of the Cairngorms Nature Festival which runs from 12 – 21 May 2023. It’s a ten day festival with over 80 exciting events across the Cairngorms National Park celebrating the incredible landscapes and nature found here.
