When is this event?
Sam Jones, the Cairngorms Rare Plants and Wild Connections Project Officer, will take you on a tour of the rare and unusual habitats of the Cairngorms National Park, one of Plantlife?s Important Plant Areas. We?ll find out about beautiful and rare fungi, mosses, and lichens growing in some of the highest altitude environments in the British isles, very rare and hidden pinewood, moor, and bog specialist plants, and beautiful meadows flowers and fungi. We?ll also talk about the challenges of preserving, monitoring, or even finding these fascinating species. This event is part of the Cairngorms Nature Festival which runs from 12 – 21 May 2023. It’s a ten day festival with over 80 exciting events across the Cairngorms National Park celebrating the incredible landscapes and nature found here.
