When is this event?
The Badenoch Heritage Festival returns from 13–19 September 2026, bringing together a varied programme of events celebrating the rich history, culture and heritage of the Badenoch communities.
Throughout the week, enjoy a range of walks, tours, talks, concerts and other events, offering opportunities to discover more about the people, places and stories that have shaped Badenoch over the centuries.
A highlight of this year’s festival is the launch of The Badenoch Drovers, a new book by historian David Taylor. The book explores the fascinating story of Badenoch’s drovers and their important role in the local community. At its peak, more than 150,000 black cattle were driven annually from the Highlands to the Falkirk Tryst, with the drovers’ success and integrity having a significant impact on communities across the area.
Whether you are interested in local history, heritage, landscape or simply want to discover more about Badenoch, there is something for everyone in this year’s festival programme.
