Cairngorms National Park reported to be in National Geographic’s Top 50 of the World’s Last Great Places.
Duncan Bryden, Convener of the board of the Cairngorms National Park Authority said: “For the Cairngorms to be named in the top 50 of the World’s Last Great Places confirms what those of us who are passionate about the area have known all along. The Cairngorms National Park really is a “destination of a lifetime” with varied and stunning landscapes, an array of interesting and often rare species and it’s extra special because it’s home and a place of work for many people. Although it’s up there with the Gobi Desert and the Galapagos Islands it’s somewhere that visitors can easily “tick off” the top 50 with the Park being easy to get to and enjoy. We are absolutely delighted with this accolade, and to be the only UK entry is simply fantastic.”
