There are some fantastic walks in the Cairngorms National Park. Here we choose 5 “wee walks” in celebration of “Wee Walks Week” 9th-15th September.
1. Frank Bruce Sculpture Trail, Feshiebridge | 1 mile (1.6km)
This is a short, flat route with a sculpture at every turn and meanders into an old walled garden alongside the beautiful River Feshie.
2. Glenmore Beach Trail, Near Aviemore | 3.5 miles (5.6km)
This is a circular route (yellow) through the Caledonian Pines and out onto Loch Morlich beach with beautiful views to the mountains.
3. Falls of Bruar Walk, Blair Atholl | 1.5 miles
Starting from the House of Bruar outside Blair Atholl this walk features in a poem by Robert Burns. Explore the waterfalls and pools as you walk upwards to the top of the falls.
4. Craigendarroch Circular Walk, Ballater | 2 miles (3.2km)
Explore the oak woods around Ballater and if you feel up to it climb to the summit of Craigendarroch for panoramic views to the Cairngorm Mountains including Lochnagar and across Ballater to the River Dee.
5. Corrie Fee, Glen Clova | 4.5 miles (7km)
Start at the Glen Doll Ranger Base and follow the path to the viewpoint. Corrie Fee is an impressive mountain amphitheatre gouged out by glaciers.
