Cairngorm Adventure Guides offer 2 and 5 day winter skills courses designed to cover the essential skills needed to stay safe and have confidence exploring the mountains in winter.
Our friendly and highly qualified instructors will guide you safely on a mountain journey, developing and practising new skills along the way including; navigation, weather and avalanche hazard awareness, ice axe and crampon techniques, walking on steep ground. Courses run from the Aviemore Youth Hostel and we provide transport from there each morning.
Most of our winter skills courses will be based in the Northern Corries and on the Cairngorm plateau, only a 15 minute drive from Aviemore. Ice axe and crampon hire are included in the cost of your course..
