All weekend trips: Friday night arrive in Grantown on Spey.  Meet Jim, your guide who will welcome you and briefly discuss the plans for the weekend over a welcome drink.  Enjoy dinner at one of the other places to eat in town. Saturday after breakfast walk along our high street with Jim to meet the local shop owners where we will collect our provisions for the weekend.  Back to base to organise, share and pack all our kit, personal belongings and provisions for the two day ride before a full briefing about what we to expect over the next two days.  Then we will rideawaybikepacking…Our first stop is not that far away where we will have coffee and a scone and collect a delicious sandwich.  After this we will ride north on a variety of simple tracks and trails beside river, farmland, woodland and open moors.  Continuing through and around the spectacular Dava Moor to our campsite with fire pits, toilets, showers and kitchen/dining area with a leavenotrace theme.  There we will share the preparation and set up of our dinner then enjoy some time around the fire to get to know one another a bit better and talk about the ride.  Your tent for the evening comes free of charge from Jim as he is an ambassador for SixMoonDesigns shelters. On Sunday morning enjoy freshly brewed coffee with breakfast before packing up and then riding south back to Grantown on Spey on an alternative route which will be chosen based on your experiences and enjoyment of Saturday. Back in Grantown on Spey to de-rig the bikes, pack everything away and reflect on our trip. Consider spending another night in Grantown on Spey.  This avoids a tiring journey home on Sunday night and the opportunity to explore the area a little more, eg. visit the new distillery a short walk from Grantown or browse in our lovely book shop or florists. Guided day rides Meet Jim, your bike guide for the day at our local Bothy Bakery for freshly made coffee, perhaps a muffin or scone and a sandwich for lunch. There we will take time to discuss what sort of riding experience you would like and agree on what route might work best before heading off.  You can choose from a variety of distances and climbing but as a rough guide 15 miles and 1000 feet of ascent is about average for the time we have available.  From Grantown on Spey there is a fantastic variety of routes on offer alongside the mighty RIver Spey, through the wonderful pine forest or up into the hills with views of the Cairngorm Mountains and sometimes even the sea! Jim has a great local knowledge of different tracks, trails and roads to make sure that you will have a unique experience in this beautiful corner of the Cairngorm National Park.  With him you can discover abandoned farms, ride through the forest on ribbons of pine needles or soar above the Dava Moor on spectacular tracks. Our ride finishes back in Grantown on Spey at The High Street Merchants art cafe where we can enjoy a well deserved lunch.
