Wildlife Watching with Speyside Wildlife

Speyside Wildlife has been running wildlife watching experiences within Scotland, the UK and overseas since 1991.

Our experienced guides can help you find the wildlife you most hope to see here in the Cairngorms National Park and surrounding area. Evening Mammal Watching - For a memorable wildlife encounter, spend an evening with our knowledgeable guide and watch the nocturnal creatures that visit our warm and comfortable, baited hide in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.

Your guide will meet you just before dusk, at our location just outside Aviemore and walk with you down the wide track to the hide. Our hide is accessible to wheelchairs and part of the viewing area windows have been lowered to assist easier viewing.

Please just ask if you’d like any more information of the viewing facilities and space in the hide. The viewing windows do not open, so there are only some incidental photographic opportunities.

Please note that flash photography is not permitted at any time and please turn any camera functions to mute so that electronic noises do not disturb the animals.

We have a photographic hide on site for 1-2 people, which can be booked on an exclusive basis for Badger Photography and the main wildlife viewing hide can also be booked on an exclusive basis if you wish to bring your own group for the evening. Guided Days Out - If you'd like a full (8-hours) or extended (10-hours) day of wildlife watching in the Cairngorms National Park or a tailor-made holiday, Speyside Wildlife can help! The Scottish Highlands is home to some iconic wildlife species but finding them can be a real challenge.

Whether you are part of a family group wanting to see a broad range of Highland wildlife, or a keen birder looking for a specific and elusive species, our wildlife guides will guide you to the best locations using their expert knowledge; so whether it's Dotterel and Ptarmigan on the high tops, Red Squirrel and Crested Tits in the forests, or maybe Otter and dolphin on the shoreline, tell us what you'd like to see and we can help you achieve your wildlife watching ambitions. To help you choose the best day, we’ve given you our suggested itineraries, showing the habitat you’ll visit and some of the species that can be found there.

These are our favourites, but if you’d like to do something different, then please email us and we would be very happy to advise.
